Everything is good about this book. But honestly, I cannot present some insights on it. I was satisfied by reading The Satanic Rituals and felt aligned with it, and that’s so cool enough by now. As a non-native speaker, I struggled to read archaic English parts before, so that is the reason why I visited The Satanic Rituals just now, despite I started learning about Satanism a few years back. Many Satanists, mostly people from the Church of Satan, said The Satanic Bible and The Satanic Rituals are the basic entry point, and Satanism is based upon them. However, as other Satanists and Occultists said, it may not be a good start if you don’t have enough background knowledge. And I think it’s true. Even though it explains the gist of Satanism, it is for those who already know its context and cultural implications enough without an introduction for complete beginners. The religion welcomes people who align with its philosophy no matter where they live, and it doesn’t automatically conclude that people who are learning about this path are all Americans who have a dysfunctional Christian household. My parents were Buddhists, and I occasionally visited Buddhist temples when I was young. However, I didn’t feel that it provided teaching and structures that made sense to my reality. I required specific words and I couldn’t scatter ideas to make my mind pure(it’s not in the 100% exact nuance, though). And I’m a queer who doesn’t want to go to a church, either. There are more reasons why I searched for alternative paths, and I made myself dedicated to learning Satanism. I cannot explain all the things on this page, but what matters most is the sense of meaning and empowerment when I keep doing this. It’s not an easy path for me, obviously. But it synced so well and implemented my psychological needs perfectly. So I love this no matter what others say or even that they cannot understand me forever. So, I’m going to read other Satanic books from the Church of Satan and practice rituals. I’m going to journal my ritual preparation and practices on this blog later.
